New Relationship Trust

The New Relationship Trust (NRT) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening First Nations in British Columbia through capacity building. NRT’s mission is to invest in the capacity development and transformation of First Nations governments and their citizens.

• Funding through NRT’s Nation Building Grant Initiative.
• NRT’s involvement in Balance Co-Lab’s research program directly dovetails with their objectives to become a central hub for knowledge-sharing between First Nations striving toward self-determination and ensuring that Indigenous knowledge is at the heart of decision-making for First Nations’ economic development. The NRT sees great value in this program for increasing the capacity of BC First Nations in terms of making informed community development decisions and evaluating the impact of their efforts in ways that incorporate and are aligned with Indigenous self-determination, well-being, values, and knowledge systems.
