Toquaht Nation is one of the Nuu-chah-nulth Nations who have lived along Vancouver Island’s west coast for over 10,000 years.

• The Toquaht Nation and Balance Co-Lab co-developed an assessment system for decision-making and impact evaluation that was integrated into a Five-year Economic Development Plan for the community. This plan aligns with the Nation’s objectives to secure a future that provides a safe and affordable environment to raise families; to use their lands in ways that support their traditions; and to maintain balance in decision-making between their cultural connection to the land and having a strong economic foundation.
