Okanagan Nation Alliance

The Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA), established in 1981, is the inaugural First Nations government in the Okanagan representing the Syilx Okanagan member communities through the Chiefs Executive Council comprised of each member community’s Chief or Chairman. The ONA works collectively with member communities to advance, defend, support, and preserve Syilx Okanagan sovereignty and collective title and rights within Syilx territory. The ONA is dedicated to upholding our inherent rights and sacred responsibilities through sqilxʷcaʷt (Syilx cultural ways of being).

ONA has requested that the Balance Co-Lab support this work by leveraging its team and network to assist with developing plans and inviting speakers, panelists, and participants for the forum. Balance Co-Lab also supported the development of a siwɬkʷ forum advisory team.
